With the release of ’easier said than done’ in 1981 Shakatak introduced their unique instrumental unison vocal sound to a much wider audience when the single stayed in the UK charts for over 17 weeks, however it was the follow up single ’Night Birds’ (their first single to reach the top 10) and the album of same name which gave the band their first ’Gold album’ cementing the band as a major international act.
