Massive wind chime by artist Etienne Krähenbühl

Swiss artist Etienne Krähenbühl creates works in which sound, movement and the contrast between monumentality and fragility take on leading roles. An explorer at heart, Krähenbühl’s longstanding collaborations with numerous research labs have resulted in works that integrate shape-memory alloys and super-elastic metals to produce startling effects when the sculptures move, sometimes pushed by the wind alone. Bing Bang is a kinetic sound sculpture, made up of thousands of chimes, that measures 3.5 metres in diameter.
