The closest I’ve been to the White House in years after Marine One arrives.

Pennsylvania Avenue AND the sidewalk in front of the White House have reopened for the first time in, well, years and I was able to go up, stick my hand through the fence and get a pretty good picture of the grounds. In the past, the road was opened but the sidewalk closed due to concerns about jumpers going over the fence, but with the new mega-fence around the White House grounds, they now feel confident enough to reopen the sidewalk and let you get a much closer look at the building. We also managed to catch Marine One landing over the In America Flags memorial for COVID victims on the National Mall today.
