Enrico Caruso sings Recondita armonia from Tosca. From an original 78 RPM played on a 1918 Victrola

The recording was made on the first of February 1904 in New York. The record player - the Victrola - is from 1918. “Recondita armonia“ is the first romanza in the opera Tosca (1900) by Giacomo Puccini. It is sung by the painter Mario Cavaradossi when comparing his love, Tosca, to a portrait of Mary Magdalene that he is painting. More information here:
