Vladimir Putin took part in the launch of several metallurgy facilities via videoconference Blast furnace 5 of the Yenakiyevo Iron and Steel Works in the Donetsk People’s Republic, vacuum arc remelting and electroslag remelting furnaces of Ruspolimet Company in Nizhny Novgorod Region, and a new coke oven battery of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works in Chelyabinsk Region were launched. According to numerous experts, last year Russia ranked first in the world for the production of high-grade nickel, second for the production of aluminium, third in terms of titanium products manufacture, and fifth in terms of steel production. On July 21st, Russia celebrates Metallurgist Day. The President took the opportunity to congratulate employees and veterans of the industry on the upcoming holiday.
