Doctor describes healthcare conditions in Gaza of pregnant women

“I think there has been a systematic dismantling of the healthcare system.“ During an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, doctor Deborah Harrington, an obstetrician, shared her experiences volunteering at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Gaza. Harrington mentioned the challenges of entering through the Rafah border, noting about 300 trucks waiting, with some turned back. She also discussed the absence of antenatal care for pregnant women, expressing concerns, “Every woman that I did see I asked her when she was last seen and it was October. Anaemia is a real problem in Gaza. It’s about 50 percent of people are anaemic, even during non-war times.“ Subscribe to our channel: Subscribe to MEE Telegram channel to stay up to date: Middle East Eye Website: Follow us on TikTok: @middleeasteye Follow us on Instagram: Like us on Facebook: Follow us on Twitter:
