There are so many metaphors, subtle humour, play on words - I can’t always grasp the meaning. non-fiction - biographies, popular science, etc. - books about real life I normally buy one new non-fiction book a month. And I usually go for what’s on the ’trending now’ shelf. a book by [author] One of my favourite contemporary novels is A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters by Julian Barnes. self-help (books) - books that help you improve yourself and develop as a person I’ve got a lot of self-help books.
