Won Ton Ton - Hey Marlene TopPop

Belgian popgroup Won Ton Ton, known for their hitsingle ’I Lie And I Cheat’, is the successor of the group Chow-Chow. After Chow-Chow disbanded, leadsinger Bea Van der Maat started Won Ton Ton in 1987. Their first single ’I Lie and I Cheat’ became a top 10-hit in Belgium and a top 20-hit in the Netherlands. The follow-up singles ’Hey Marlene’ en ’Can I come near you’ also became (minor) hits. In 1989 their debut album ’Won Ton Ton’ was released to critical acclaim.
