Dr. Tikhonov - Chirality: Overview of Experimental Approaches | ChemTalks 5 | ChemU
Welcome to ChemTalks - online conference where scientists present advancements of their researches and give talks on the cutting-edge scientific themes. Today our speaker is Dr. Denis Tikhonov from German Electron Synchrotron (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron in german).
Title: “How can we see chirality“.
Abstract: In this talk, we will discuss what chirality is, how we can characterize and quantify molecular chirality, and determine the enantiomeric composition of chemical systems. We will examine the detailed physical mechanisms of both classical methods for identifying the chirality of chemicals and novel techniques, including microwave three-wave mixing and photoelectron circular dichroism. To be more precise, such methods as chiral chromatography, Anomalous X-ray scattering (XRAS), chiral NMR, PECD, Coulomb Explosion Imaging, Chiral Tagging Rotational Spectroscopy, and MW3WM will be highlighted and briefly explained.
Don’t forget that all our videos are useful not only for the undergraduate and postgraduate chemists, biochemists, pharmacists and medics, but also for the final years of school students, taking exam in chemistry on IB, SAT, A-level, NEET, and JEE.
