Dame Myra Hess (1890-1965) plays the 7th movement (Gigue) from J.S. Bach’s French Suite No 5 in G major BWV816. Transfer of a rather worn out acetate of the March 1937 Ford Sunday Evening Hour broadcast, taken from APR’s 3 CD-set “Myra Hess (piano) - Live recordings from the University of Illinois 1949“.
