B-29 Flight Procedure and Combat Crew Functioning - “Irresistible Instrument of Destruction“
Early B-29s are used in this fabulous training film from World War II. You may see side gunner Plexiglas blisters with internal framing not seen later in the war. And you’ll see olive drab-and-gray B-29s, like some of the first ones sent into combat before all were delivered in natural metal finish.
Go through the preflight as you learn more and more about the B-29; see the various pressure compartments for the crew. Learn how the remote gun sighting and firing system works. And don’t forget to leave the bomb bay doors open when on the ground to purge gasoline fumes.
