Hurricane Milton surges to Category 5 storm | LiveNOW from FOX

Hurricane Milton rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm with 175-mph winds. Landfall is expected along Florida’s Gulf Coast, ranging anywhere between Fort Myers & Cedar Key late Wednesday or very early Thursday morning. Life-threatening weather will strike Florida when Milton makes landfall. The storm surge forecast for Tampa Bay is between 8 and 12 feet if the surge coincides with high tide, according to Fox Weather. Milton is moving east at 9 mph. The National Hurricane Center issued a Hurricane Watch for Florida’s Gulf Coast from Chokoloskee to the Suwanee River. Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 51 Florida counties.
