The Lie of Sengoku Nadeko | Otorimonogatari/Koimonogatari Analysis

Monogatari is filled with liars. Characters deceive each other--characters deceive themselves. But arguably, nobody more so than Sengoku Nadeko. Like a doll, Nadeko hides behind this cute image, retracting inward both to avoid the ugliness of others as well as her own shadows inside. However, this mask is not her greatest deception. Nadeko’s biggest lie is the lie she tells herself that she deserves to stay hidden. This video was edited by Christopher “MrNiesGuy” Nies.
