GOALKEEPER TRAINING | FCG DRILLS | X 2 Foot work distribution keeping possession of the ball

Hi thanks for taking a look at what First Class Goalkeeping has to offer. Session ideas are posted weekly on my social media accounts so please check out and follow my Facebook and Instagram if they are of interest. A goalkeepers ability to distribute the ball effectively is a vital skill. Keeping the ball moving to retain possession is of the utmost importance to you, your team and the teams goal of winning. Two practice drills on offer is: Drill One: The goalkeeper is under pressure when receiving a pass back and their decision making is brought into question. Producing a good first touch allows the goalkeeper more time on the ball and through keeping on your toes and watching the ball into your foot is essential. After the touch the player will use the rebounder board to play a one two, this action can be adapted with players or a drag back situation to change direction. Having played the one two the ball must be out of your feet and a target located through scanning the area. The focus is to hit the target. Drill Two: Drill two incorporates a shot but primarily, the focus lies with receiving the ball, moving the ball and playing the pass before getting into a position and setting for a resulting shot on goal. Mannequins can be adapted to have a player charge and put the goalkeeper under pressure and force the change in direction. Service can be changed and the shot can be swapped out for the attacker bring the ball towards the goal. So much variety and options for your sessions so please take a look at so many more goalkeeper training exercises that i have available.
