★ 4K 🇨🇭 Bellinzona - Göschenen - Arth-Goldau Gotthardbahn cab ride, Switzerland []

In this video, we’re looking at an iconic railway in the history of Swiss railways, the original Gotthard railway (Gotthardbahn). Some of you may have seen part of this line on the channel already. Unfortunately I forgot to make room on the memory card I was using and the video ended abruptly after Wassen. The weather was however top notch. Here’s a link if anybody would like to compare: The weather in the video is more typical of the region and gives the trip more atmosphere. The old Gotthard line has been somewhat empty since the base tunnel was officially opened in 2016. Most trains do and many must take the base tunnel due to weight, height or time restrictions. There are some exceptions such as gravel trains, which must use the mountain route because of the dust they leave behind. All the more encouraging it is to see the extent of maintenance that is being done at the moment. More to come... I hope you enjoyed the video. If you
