This song is not real! In 1981, ELO released “Time,“ one of the greatest records ever. It was originally slated to be a double album, with five songs ultimately left on the cutting room floor. Three of these eventually surfaced as singles and bonus tracks, but “Time Transporter“ and “Sad Affair“ elude fans to this day.
There’s an alleged quote from an old engineer working on Time that Sad Affair was a cross between the Discovery outtake Second Time Around and Secret Messages track Letter from Spain, so like my fake Time Transporter, I used a stem extraction tool on those two and threw them in a blender. This takes more liberties than the other outfake, with some C64 samples buried beneath the OB-Xd and some ANWR-era Bev Bevan samples serving as the drums on the outro.
