Inside secret D-Day war room, as WW2 expert reveals how landings were meticulously planned
On 6th June 1944 the largest amphibious invasion in history began.
The Allied Forces of Britain, America, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France.
With a huge force of over 150,000 soldiers, the Allies attacked and gained a victory that became the turning point for World War II in Europe.
The operation was the result of an incredible top-secret planning operation that culminated in the Allied forces taking the Nazis by surprise.
In this video retired colonel Jeremy Green explains the meticulous work behind the scenes that made the landings possible in the room where the Naval component of the D-Day landings was organised.
Also, we interview Arlette Gondree, who was one of the first to be liberated by Allied forces on June 6th 1944.
