The Myanmar Air Force clashed with Karen army rebels, displacing villagers on the Thai-Myanmar border. Fighting between Burmese state troops and resistance forces erupted in Myanmar’s Kayah State on July 29, injuring dozens of Karenni and Burmese soldiers, Thai media citing Karenni Army officers reported. The Burmese army reportedly plans to launch more airstrikes nera Ban Doi Saeng village in Mae Hong Son, Thailand. The Thai-Myanmar Border Command Centre said on July 27 that it had spotted Burmese aircraft and soldiers performing reconnaissance near the border of Mae Hong Son. The centre said there were 8,852 Burmese refugees in Thailand so far. They were taking shelter in five temporary evacuation centres in Mae Hong Son.
