Lycian Way, Turkey

9 days of solo hiking in Turkey... As soon as I heard about the Lycian Way hike in Turkey I was super keen and ready for a proper adventure. One Canadian guy in particular told me that I could camp along the trek each night using just a hammock, and then wouldn’t have to carry loads of gear. I was pretty inspired so I went and got myself a hammock. I was going alone, but my intention was to meet other people along the hike and do sections of the trail together. Turns out everyone had stopped doing the hike because of the brutal heat (Turkish summer was coming), so the whole time I only briefly met one crazy German guy who hiked in just trainers like me. Except he did the whole 500km! I like walking, but not that much haha. In total I did about 150km, but the hike would take you from the beach right up to the top of a mountain village then all the way back down to the ocean again, all in the blistering heat and completely by myself. It was definitely a mental and physical roller-coaster but
