The whole world is praying for Australia Severe storms affected multiple places on Friday, April 7, 2023, in a zone stretching from South Queensland to eastern New South Wales, eastern Victoria and northeastern Tasmania. Large to giant hailstones are observed together in several places. Brief tornadoes were also reported east of the Cecil Plains. Some of the many important reports from today include ice rocks 9-11cm in diameter east of Cecil Plain. Ice boulder 11-12 cm in diameter near Goombungee (NE of Oakey). Ice rocks 8 cm in diameter at Haden, and wind gusts of 104km/h at Oakey. The Bureau of Meteorology is warning people in parts of Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas, that at 10:10 p.m, a severe thunderstorm was detected on weather radar near Laidley and Grandchester.
