American Pika Calling

An American pika performing a long call at Mount Rainier National Park. This pika calls after hearing two short calls from one of his neighbors. These animals live in a very specific habitat type called talus (large accumulations of rocks) primarily at high altitudes. Because of their habitat needs and low heat tolerance they are at extreme risk due to a changing climate. Video by Zach Hawn Filmed at Mount Rainier National Park
