Spy’s Rally (Meet The Spy’s Original Monologue)

In September 2023, Shork contacted me for a very special project. Dennis Bateman, the voice actor for Spy and Pyro, had sent him one of the very first recordings of him playing the Spy. We believe that it is likely this monologue delivered by the Spy was intended for Meet The Spy back in 2007, before Valve changed the format for the Meet The Team videos. This video is a reimagining of what Meet The Spy could have been before the change in direction, based on the voice clip Dennis Bateman had given us. I am incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to bring this scene to life through animation. I’d like to thank Shork for making this whole project possible, and Polybrow for making an amazing score for this. But most of all, I’m thankful to Dennis for playing such an amazing character and giving us the rare opportunity to bring something to life that was considered lost media.
