Here Comes The Fire Brigade (1927)

Item title reads: “Here comes the Fire Brigade. Business suspended in centre of “Cottonpolis“ to laugh at ’Varsity Students’ Fire Brigade “Rag“.“ Manchester Students rag day. There are various students on a fire tender, some in fancy dress, like pirates. They have signs -’If its a fire drop us a postcard’ ’insurance jobs a speciality’. A woman in a white coat is seen standing on a ledge high up on a building. Suddenly she jumps. It looks alarming, but she is caught by a team holding a fire blanket. They toss her about in a most ungainly fashion for a while, her white bloomers are on show as she rolls over, but she seems to enjoy it - its all in good fun. Note: The jump is quite spectacular and the stunt of tossing the girl in the blanket, showing her long knickers, looks really funny. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
