Hi! Today, the restoration of the Turkish yatagan sabre. A knife or a short saber, but it has its own history. I have a sample of the modern late 20th and early 21st centuries, but the double bend of the blade is clearly visible. The item is not mine, and goes to a private museum of cold steel. We are starting to restore. First, I dismantled the “handle“ or something similar. Next, he removed the first layer of rust with an iron brush and placed the blade in a rust remover. After cleaning, I neutralized the acid effect with soda and water. The blade was cleaned manually, and the grinding was easy. I did not sharpen the blade - there was a request initially. Next, I added brass linings that pass from the handle to the blade. I came up with an original shape, cut and ground it. I glued the pads to the handle of the blade with epoxy resin.
