Greensleeves | Kalimba Cover With Number & Letter Notations | Easy, normal, hard arrangement levels
GREENSLEEVES is a famous traditional English folk song from 16th century. Many people belief the words and the music written and composed by Henry VIII (1491-1547), who was King of England best known for his six marriages. There are claims that he wrote it for Anne Boleyn, his lover and future queen consort (2nd marriage), whom later beheaded in Tower of London. Some others belief that the tune is based on Italian composition style that didn’t reach England in Henry VIII’s era.
The lyrics consist of 18 verses/stanzas, but I include only 6 of them in the video.
In 1865, an English writer William Chatterton Dix wrote the lyrics to a Christmas carol, “What Child is This?“ that set to the tune of Greensleeves.
