The X-Files _ A.D. Skinner insights_The politic

I always wanted to make an insight on Skinner. His character is so great and most of the time overseen, especially on music videos, so well ... got some love for him this time... What would be of Mulder and Scully without Walter Skinner? We don’t know much about his personal life, except that he was a mariner, he fought on Vietnam when he had an “out of the body“ experience and he was married. We also don’t know for sure the side he plays till later in the show. I guess what is fascinating about Skinner is his own journey at the FBI trying to conciliate his career and his commitment to Mulder and Scully and the truth. His position and experience allows him to perceive that Mulder is not as crazy as they paint and while in a lot of pressure, the only way he has to continue having access and help them is to play the burocratic game, that sometimes enfuriates the partners.
