Japanese scientists invent edible concrete made from food waste
Japanese boffins have finally developed a method of building houses out of leftovers. By liquidizing and then highly compressing waste food, Kota Machida was able to invent a building material that is not only four times stronger than concrete, but also rich in vitamins and minerals.
Machida hopes that his invention will help find a constructive use for the country’s enormous food waste, and also provide a source of food for an emergency such as a tsunami or earthquake.
