Cold War, 1967: The Other Civil Rights activist who was Sniped, and survived!

In June 1966, James Meredith (the 1st person of African ancestry to attend University of Mississippi) began a solo Civil Rights march in Mississippi, on the 2nd day he was sniped down by a man with a shotgun. Meredith survived, the would-be assassin served only 5 months in prison! Despite being shot, Meredith was able to join MLK Junior, and 15-thousand others, in a march on the city of Jackson!
