Almost missed it! NASA DC-8 arrives Pocatello Regional Airport, 15MAY2024.

After getting less than 24 hours notice, many locals traveled to the Pocatello Regional Airport (which is not even in the same county as the City of Pocatello) only to be told by Idaho State University (ISU) campus police that the handover ceremony was ’by invitation only’! The notice seemed short, as even local public administrators, which I met at the airport, seemed confused as to what was going on! On 15MAY2024, NASA officially handed over their taxpayer funded DC-8 atmospheric research aircraft to the ISU aircraft maintenance school.
