SETTLER PRICE TAG POLICY IN PALESTINE November 14th 2011

BURIN, West Bank. Price tag policy has recently been all over the news in Israel and painted across walls in Palestine. Some extremist settlers use this expression: “Price Tag Policy“ to justify their actions against Palestinians or their property in response to decisions taken by the ISraeli government against settlements it deems illegal, such as certain outposts in the West Bank. These actions include burning mosques, graffiti, desecrating graves, uprooting olive trees and other such acts of vengeance. The extremists behind these acts have even gone further when they they defaced the walls of the apartment of an Israeli left wing activist or when they attacked jeeps belonging to the Israeli army, thus crossing a major red line. Israeli security services are now warning that these groups have formed underground network which have little respect for government decisions and threaten to destabilize the West Bank or ignite violence between  its communities, through their actions.
