Sir Thomas Jones Woodward (Tom Jones) is a Welsh singer. His career began with a string of top 10 hits in the 1960s and he has since toured regularly, with appearances in Las Vegas from 1967 to 2011. His voice has been described by AllMusic as a “full-throated, robust baritone“.
Tom Jones recorded a version which was released in 1970. The song is the title track of his album I Who Have became the most popular version of the song in the United States, peaking at No. 14 in 1970 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 2 on the Easy Listening chart, and No. 10 in Canada. This version also peaked at No. 11 in Cashbox.
