How to Make Congee Rice Porridge - Congee is an Asian rice porridge that is very healing for your digestive system. It is made with rice, ginger and chicken broth or bone broth or water. Follow me : Twitter : Facebook : Instagram : 3 1/2 cups chicken broth or bone broth or water 1/2 cup rice - washed very well 1 knob ginger -- peeled and finely sliced Optional for garnish - chopped scallion green, soy sauce, sesame oil Place the ingredients in a pot, cover it and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about an hour until the liquid is almost gone and the rice has thickened. Serve immediately. You can garnish it with scallion greens, a drizzle of soy sauce and a drizzle of sesame oil. This porridge will thicken as it sits. You will have to add more liquid if you have left overs.
