The Capture of Tiger 131 Re-Enactment - The Tank Museum, Spring Tiger Day 2023
A mock battle re-enactment, loosely depicting how the British Sherwood Foresters Regiment and supporting Royal Tank Corps, part of the British 8th Army in North Africa, captured the first Tiger 1 to come into Allied hands from the German Afrika Corps in Tunisia on 23rd April 1943. The Tiger 1 Tank, which is the only original running Tiger 1 tank left, is part of The tank Museum collection at Bovington, Dorset. It’s come to be known after its unit number, ’Tiger 131’.
Gunfire and explosions in the film are using blank ammunition and firework style pyrotechnics and all participants are acting.
Filmed in the arena at The tank Museum, during ’Spring Tiger Day 2023’.
