It is well known fact but it seems to have disappeared from History as it is taught in school or presented in the media. After WW2 between 1945 and 1951 somewhere between 11 million to 14 million Germans were forced to leave their homes in East Germany and migrate West. Often they were only allowed to take what they could carry on their backs.
