In this remake of Michael Curtiz’ boxer drama “Kid Galahad“ (1937) Elvis can be seen alongside US film- and TV-stars Gig Young and Charles Bronson. This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie when boxing amateur Walter Gulick (Elvis) acts as sparring partner for 5 $ per round and accidentally knocks out his partner. The moment when he asks “Do I still ge my five Dollars?“ he’s actually acting as if he really means it.
