This song is meant to reinforce hearing the sound of the V7 chord, and remember which notes to listen for in identifying it. Meanwhile it explores several other concepts, including hearing the I, IV and vi chords, and recognizing a deceptive cadence. The line about V7/V is not meant to be cryptic. It’s just that in the class I teach, we don’t cover that until the Spring semester. Be sure to listen through a stereo or good headphones to hear the bass, if you really want to hear the inversions.
