Дореволюционная Россия на фотографиях Город Белый 1900-x Russia in pre-revolutionary photographs White (City) 1900s Here I present a series of photographs of the town of White in Tver Province close to the regional border with Smolensk. Fortress White has been known since the XIII century . In 1355 White was occupied by Lithuania and later was incorporated into the Province of Moscow. Following a 4 month siege in 1610, White was taken by the Polish-Lithuanian troops and became a bargaining chip in the trades between the Russian and the Polish-Lithuanian rulers. At the beginning of the Smolensk War 1632 - 1634, White city was occupied by Russian troops and has remained in Russia to this day.....
