Medieval Carol ’Gaudete’ - Choir of Clare College Cambridge & London Cello Orchestra

This medieval carol is here given a spirited rendition by the Choir of Clare College Cambridge. In Daryl Runswick’s arrangement, under Geoffrey Simon’s direction, the choir is accompanied by a small cello ensemble, a descant recorder and a medieval tabor (drum). The word “arrangement“ should be emphasized, as this version is not intended to represent how this piece was played and sung all those centuries ago!
