Excerpted from Pink Martini’s concert DVD release “Discover the World,“ this performance was filmed live in concert at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland Oregon on December 31, 2005. “Una notte a Napoli,“ an original Pink Martini song in the Neapolitan language (an Italian dialect spoken the the region of Naples) was written by lead singer China Forbes and bandleader Thomas Lauderdale, along with their friends Alba Clemente and Johnny Dynell. The song titles translates to “One Night in Naples.“ The song was originally heard on the Pink Martini studio release “Hang on Little Tomato,“ and this performance features a guitar solo by Dan Faehnle. Santana covered the song in Spanish on their 2014 album Corazón, where it is found with the song title “Una noche en Nápoles.“
