This is just about as simple as it gets. The hull is a cut and soldered juice can, the candle is household wax melted into a beer cap, the wick is a bit of cotton yarn, and the pipe is left over from doing the carburetors on my Triumph. Tools: aviation shears, soldering iron, anvil (to work on), hard drive magnet (to hold the boat down while soldering), and pliers to bend stuff. If I can source more parts I’ll make another one as a tutorial.
I might end up putting a shield around the flame to keep it from blowing out or blowing away from the coil, but for indoor use that’s not an issue.
