It is stated that this version was originally designed to facilitate the renewal of computers donated to humanitarian organizations, starting with the communities of Emmaus (hence the name of the distribution, obviously), to encourage as well as expand the discovery of GNU/Linux by beginners. It is stated that this version will greatly simplify the distribution of CTparental for parents who want to protect their children against inappropriate content on the Internet. Deb-get utilities and its graphical interface, Deborah, are also reportedly coming in this new version and only available in 64-bit version.
