#strangestanimal #biggestanimal #seacreatures The mimic octopus is one of the most remarkable cephalopods in the ocean. It was first discovered off the coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia in 1998 on the bottom of a muddy river mouth. The species was thought to only inhabit the islands of Indonesia until one was spotted near the Great Barrier Reef. It is primarily found in areas with sand or silt at depths of less than 15 meters.
