Franz Liszt - Totentanz, Daria Kovaljova, Wiener Konzertvereinigung, Tristan Schulze

One of Liszt’s most virtuoso piano pieces. It is so difficult that Franz Liszt hardly played it himself. It also is one of his finest compositions regarding composition technique. The whole piece is based on the ancient “Dies Irea“ which used to be part of the catholic requiem liturgy until the 1970s. Hector Berlioz also used it in his Symphony Fantastique.
