Taken from “Spreading the Winds of Hope“ out next June 14th as CD/Tape via Ardua Music. Preorder at Golgotha is a pioneer Spanish doom metal band founded in Mallorca back in 1992 by Vicente J. Payá. In their early years and under a quite unsteady line-up, they recorded two albums: “Melancholy“ (1995) and “Elemental Changes“ (1998), both via cult label Repulse Records. Those releases awarded the band wide recognition in and out of Spain, in a scene mostly ruled by Death Metal bands at the time. In 2005 they released the album “New Life” via Slovakian label Metal Age productions. It also meant the band cut activities for a while, with band members focusing in other side and personal projects. In 2014 they were reborn again with the recording of their new “Arise” EP. In 2019 and after constant line-up changes, Vicente & Amón (lead singer) recruited drummer Tomeu Crespí and Angel Riutort (bass player, keyboard and producer) for the release of a new full length album “Erasing The Past”, released via Xtreem Music. This work meant the first step of regular live and studio activities after some years of no full length releases, followed by another 2021 compilation EP “Remembering The Past / Writing The Future“ and their latest studio effort “Mors Diligentis“ from 2022. This 2024, featuring eight momentous tracks, laden with portent and powerful emotion and mixed and mastered to perfection by Javier Fernández (Avulsed, Holycide, TodoMal), “Spreading The Wings Of Hope“ will be released on CD and cassette formats on June 14th, adorned in vivid, compelling artwork. This album sees Golgotha scaling new peaks of creative endeavour and weaving some of the most captivating musical spells of their career to date.
