Sewing the Bookblock A film by Flavio Marzo and Rolf Killius for the Qatar Digital Library. This video shows the preparation of a bookblock. It presents the making of the typical Islamic unsupported sewing and the spine lining. The sewing, done with linen thread and curved needle, recreates the body of the 18th century manuscript, here reproduced with modern blank paper.
