Mantis Double Knives “螳螂双刀”

In honor of the Lunar New Year I wanted to pay my respects to my Mantis teacher Shifu Richard Tolson by playing through an in house Taolu developed by him. He always stressed the importance of knowing all aspects of your style of martial arts. What was practical and what was flashy for demonstration purposes. Before he passed he wanted me to complete one more road (section) to this taolu. We unfortunately did not get to spend much time on this together but I’ve spent the last few months trying to complete his wish. I’m not sure where he found the knives for this taolu and the ones I am demonstrating with are not the same as his. All techniques in this taolu come from - Bā Zhou - Lán Jié - Bēng Bu - Zhao Yao - 7 Star “18 Elders” - Méi Huā Lu It is still a work in progress for me…
