In this first segment of 5, Jason Bellchamber shows how to draw the penciled spine of Celtic knotwork found in one of the discs of a Pictish Z-Rod. The pattern is on the reverse the Celtic Cross (likely from the late 6th century to early 7th century). The pattern is a circle which consists of 4 repeating Celtic Triskeles. The Triskeles are a variant of a trillium knot. The number 4 can represent the 4 directions, the 4 phases of the moon, the 4 seasons and even an early representation of the 4
