Dmitri Hvorostovsk: “Once in 1992, we met with the St. Petersburg chamber choir in Paris. Then they were all very young, beautiful, amazingly scenic bright, almost all of these people, and Nikolai Nikolaevich Kornev, under whose direction this choir was created. We became friends and he proposed the idea to sing together sacred music. It’s even more likely not to record, but just to meet and work on this kind of music. I was very interested and for several weeks and months, he simply taught me how to pronounce the words, how it was necessary, and with what feeling it was necessary to do it. We have recorded the most beautiful disc called CREDO, recorded in 1994.“
