Maria Lazareva - Concertino for piano & strings

The State Academic Orchestra of Russia Pianist - Daria Gushcha Premiered on May 14, 2021 Moscow Tchaikovsky Philharmonic, Chamber Hall The motives for the first themes came to my mind quite quickly, when I was enjoying the view of a winter landscape one cloudy day... It’s quite common that the beauty of Russian winter used to inspire so many composers! Despite the fact, that the first themes appeared quite quickly, the work on the whole composition took quite a long time - more than a year. I always wanted to compose a piece, where piano would play the leading role. This piece for piano and chamber orchestra - is my modest homage and endless gratitude to the great composers, who contributed invaluably to the piano repertoire. Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Bach, Mendelssohn, Mathieu- perhaps some moments in my piece might remind you of their music.
