Took my two year old son fishing on Jan 1st 2015. Despite the cold, we had a fabulous time and even caught a few small channel catfish from shore. More importantly I spent time with my son, at an age when he is growing up very quickly. Take a kid fishing. The key to getting kids interested in fishing is to remember that the point is to have fun rather than to catch fish. If you can catch fish, great.
